ArmInfo. On May 3, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan received the State Minister of the United Arab Emirates, Co-Chairman of the Armenian-Emirate Intergovernmental Commission Ahmad Ali Al-Saeg.
According to the press service of the government, Pashinyan stressed the importance of the first meeting of the Armenia-UAE intergovernmental commission held on May 2, which is a good platform for discussing the development of the Armenian-Emirate relations. Nikol Pashinyan noted that Armenia attaches great importance to cooperation with the United Arab Emirates, and the intensification of bilateral economic ties, the positive developments observed in the field of tourism indicate the positive dynamics of Armenia- United Arab Emirates cooperation.
In turn, the State Minister of the United Arab Emirates expressed satisfaction with the visit to Armenia, the results of discussions at the meeting of the commission and the agreements reached. According to Ahmad Ali Al-Saeg, the United Arab Emirates is interested in developing cooperation with Armenia, and in implementing joint projects in various fields, and the commission's activities testify to this.The interlocutors discussed issues related to the deepening of economic cooperation. The Prime Minister noted that the government is conducting large-scale reforms aimed at improving the business environment, creating equal conditions for economic development and attracting foreign investment. From the point of view of further development of the Armenian-UAE economic relations, Nikol Pashinyan considered prospects for cooperation in agriculture, tourism, information technologies, etc.
The head of the government also noted that Armenia can become a bridge for UAE businessmen in the EEU and third countries markets. In the context of deepening cooperation in the field of information technologies, the Prime Minister expressed hope that the UAE companies will take an active part in the World Information Technology Congress, which will be held from October 6 to 9 in Yerevan.The State Minister noted that the UAE is also interested in implementing joint programs in the areas mentioned by the Prime Minister, and the UAE is generally ready to expand cooperation with Armenia in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres.
The Prime Minister of Armenia and the State Minister of the United Arab Emirates also touched on the steps to establish direct air communication, which will contribute not only to the growth of tourism, but also to an increase in commodity circulation. Both sides stressed the importance of holding business forums and organizing mutual high-level visits.The Prime Minister thanked the UAE government for a balanced position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
