Tonoyan: World states should combine their power with moral  principles, and temper faith in one`s righteousness

ArmInfo.Armenian Defense Minister David Tonoyan, speaking at the VIII Moscow Conference on International Security MCIS-2019, spoke about the participation of  the Armenian contingent in the peacekeeping operation in Syria.

According to him, for more than twenty years in an unstable  situation, when the concepts of "war" and "peace" are very shaky,  Armenia simultaneously with the consistent development of the defense  potential develops opportunities for maintaining peace and  international security.

The Armenian Minister drew attention to the fact that the decision to  conduct a peacekeeping operation in Syria was made in accordance with  the norms of international law after the official appeal of the  receiving party

- The Syrian government and the requests of the Armenian community of  the city of Aleppo, as well as local religious leaders with the  assistance of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"We are very grateful for this to the Russian government," he said.
