ArmInfo.Deputy Head of the State Control Service (SCS) Argishti Kyaramyan, appointed to this position on April 10 of this year, does not consider himself accountable in matters concerning his property for several tens of millions of drams. He stated this on April 25 in an interview with journalists. At the same time, he did not rule out his appointment to the post of the head of the SCS, noting: " Whatever Prime Minister decide, so be it."
To note, since 2018, Kyaramyan held the position of head of the Investigation Department of the State Revenue Committee. He was in the center of attention of journalists after the submission of the declaration to the Ethics Commission of high-ranking officials. It turned out that the 28-year-old official, who was not engaged in business, worked as an investigator and then as a prosecutor, at the time of taking office, he declared the property for several tens of millions of drams.
According to the deputy head of the SCS, he highly appreciates the role of David Sanasaryan, whose powers at this stage have been suspended. Kyaramyan himself, by his own admission, was not familiar with Sanasaryan for long. But at the same time he does not doubt his patriotism and exceptional human qualities.
At the same time, Kyaramyan refrained from assessing the lawfulness of initiating a criminal case and how justified are the suspicions that "So this is a case of a non-case", referring to the secret of the preliminary investigation.
Argishti Kyaramyan also refrained from commenting on the sources of his income, thanks to which he declared property of several tens of millions. "I worked in various law enforcement agencies, did not do business and was not noticed in corruption schemes. In this context, I consider it incorrect to discuss the issue of my property, and therefore I consider this explanation sufficient," said Kyaramyan. He also denied rumors that he is in the kinship relations with the former head of the Armenian Police, Vladimir Gasparyan, noting that their communication is based only on "mutual respect."
On the question of whether he is ready to take the post of Sanasaryan, Argishti Kyaramyan, he first noted that all the staff of the control body are hoping for the return of the current head of the SCS. Then the deputy head of the department indicated that the SCS operates under the Prime Minister, and therefore "Whatever Prime Minister decide, so be it." At the remark that there is still a legal barrier to his appointment as chief of the SCS , related to age, he noted that in some cases exceptions are made.
To recall, on April 18, head of the State Control Service of Armenia David Sanasaryan was charged with part 1 of Article 308 of the Criminal Code (Abuse of power) of the Armenian Criminal Code. In particular, Sanasaryan is accused of using his official position contrary to the interests of the service and non- fulfillment of official duties, proceeding from his own interests, which caused substantial damage to persons, organizations or the legitimate interests of the state. "In relation to D.Sanasaryan, a preventive measure was chosen as a subscription on his own recognizance. The fulfillment of his duties as the head of the SCS was temporarily suspended, the Prime Minister was notified of that," the case report of the Armenian National Security Service said.
