Armenia to receive Russian multipurpose Su-30 SM by early 2020

ArmInfo. The first multifunctional Su-30SM fighters will be delivered to Armenia by  early next year. According to TASS, Armenian Defense Minister David  Tonoyan told reporters on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Eighth  Moscow Conference on International Security.  "At the first stage,  there will be four aircraft.

Deliveries are envisaged by the end of the year - the beginning of 2020. We will continue to work in this direction," he said, adding that the first money tranches for Russian fighters had already been transferred.

Tonoyan also noted that Armenia has plans for the further purchase of  Russian weapons. "We will arm and re-equip very hard. Russian  armament will be purchased," the minister noted. Su-30SM (serial,  upgraded) - a double super-maneuverable fighter of generation 4 ++.  Equipped with two dual-circuit forced turbojet engines with thrust  vectoring AL-31FP.

The VIII Moscow International Security Conference is held April  23-25. Its agenda reflects the most significant problems arising in  shaping views on international security, and will exchange views on  current military dangers and threats, including the improvement of  the arms control system. Participants also discuss the situation in  the Middle East, Asia, Africa and Latin America. It is attended by  defense ministers from no less than 35 states and over a thousand  experts from over 100 countries.
