ArmInfo. Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan, who is in St. Petersburg to attend the 49th plenary session of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, on April 19 met with Chairwoman of the Senate of Kazakhstan Dariga Nazarbayeva.
According to the parliament's press service, Mirzoyan congratulated Nazarbayeva on her election as chairwoman of the Senate of Kazakhstan and wished her success in carrying out this responsible state activity. He expressed hope that by joint efforts they will be able to give a new impetus to the Armenian- Kazakh relations.
Touching upon the Armenian-Kazakh economic relations, the Chairwoman of the National Assembly noted that there is a positive growth in bilateral trade, the volume of which in the past in 2018 increased 2.5 foldcompared with 2017.
The head of the parliament expressed confidence that the dynamic development of inter-parliamentary relations will also create a favorable basis for multilateral cooperation between Armenia and Kazakhstan.
In turn, Dariga Nazarbayeva noted that effective cooperation was always inherent in the Armenian-Kazakh relations.
The Chairperson of the Senate noted with satisfaction that the Armenian community in Kazakhstan is actively and successfully involved in various spheres of economic, cultural and social life of the country.
Noting the progress achieved by Armenia in the development and application of high technologies, Dariga Nazarbayeva suggested intensifying cooperation in this area and taking concrete actions to share Armenian experience with Kazakhstani partners.
Nazarbayeva also noted that her country is currently in a transitional stage, and she hopes that in June of this year, elections in her country will be democratic, free, independent and transparent.
Ararat Mirzoyan, in his turn, confirmed the readiness of the Armenian side to deepen cooperation with Kazakhstan partners, including in the development of high technologies.
