ArmInfo. The new government of Armenia decided to go in a phased manner in the issue of abandoning radar to measure speed. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this in an interview with reporters on April 15, responding to the remark that the head of the Cabinet has not yet fulfilled his promise to abandon the speedometers.
According to the prime minister, on the one hand, the new government is reproached for not listening to any counterargument. On the other hand, when the government listens, they begin to blame it for being inconsistent in its promises. "Statistical data were recently published that in the first quarter of the current year there were 50,000 less fines. At the same time, the number of victims decreased, and this at a time when the import of cars doubles, or even triples. We are now introducing a bonus system>, - declared Pashinyan.According to him, when at a cabinet meeting it was proposed to temporarily suspend the work of radar-speed, they began to write in social networks that the number of victims would increase. "We said: since people are so worried, then let's go in a phased manner," the head of the Cabinet concluded.
Earlier, ArmInfo said that the Road Police of Armenia will soon switch to the scoring system for drivers. The point system will be a deterrent and will promote road discipline and the reduction of heavy accidents. As reported by the Armenian Police, after the innovation, drivers will realize that the loss of points is fraught with deprivation of driver's licenses. Drunk drivers may be prosecuted. For the first and second time, they (drunk drivers, ed.) Will temporarily lose their driver's license, but for the third time they will face criminal liability.
