On April 15, a working meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan - Sergey Lavrov, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Elmar Mammadyarov, joined by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs (Igor Popov from Russia, Andrew Schaefer from the US, Steephane Visconti from France) and Personal Representative of the OSCE Chaiperson-in- Office on Nagorno-Karabakh Andrzej Kasprzyk.
According to a joint statement by the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia, as well as the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs on the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement, received by ArmInfo from the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in follow-up to the agreements reached by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the Vienna summit on March 29 of this year, the meeting participants discussed the situation on the border and the Line of Contact, as well as prospects for establishing cooperation in the humanitarian field. A thorough exchange of views on key aspects of the settlement took place.
The foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia confirmed the parties' intention to continue efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by political and diplomatic means. Interest was noted in further stabilizing the situation in the conflict zone, in particular during agricultural work. They also agreed on a reciprocal basis to take measures for the admission of relatives to persons imprisoned in the territory of the parties. The ministers expressed readiness to begin practical work on establishing contacts between people, including reciprocal visits of media representatives.
The Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation and the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs reiterated their commitment to a mediation mission aimed at achieving sustainable peace in the region. The meeting participants agreed to continue contacts in the near future.
