ArmInfo. We propose to limit the advertising of lotteries. This was stated on April 12 during a meeting of the economic commission during discussions on the package of draft laws on making amendments and additions to the Law on Advertising and the Law on Lotteries, said MPfrom the My Step faction Hrachya Hakobyan.
He noted that he proposed to allow advertising of gambling only in the evening and at night, namely from 9:00pm to 6:00am. "We also propose to ban advertising of gambling on television an hour before the start and end of children's programs," the MPstressed. Hakobyan noted that, in his opinion, such an advertisement should not be broadcast more than two times in an hour, and their duration should not exceed one minute. If these requirements are violated, Hakobyan proposes to withdraw a fine of 1000 times the minimum wage from the violator.
Hakobyan also said that if he could, he would ban any advertising of gambling on TV channels, radio stations and on the Internet. At the same time, the deputy expressed regret that it is too difficult to prohibit such advertising on the network. "In fact, my proposals are more than reasonable. I do not propose completely banning advertising of lotteries and gambling, but I propose to regulate the frequency of their broadcasting," said the deputy.
Other MPs expressed their concern, explaining that such measures could "strike" on the media, the main sponsors of which are lotteries. Hakobyan said that he cares about the welfare of the population as a whole, the main thing is to eradicate gambling in the country, and everything else is not so significant.
As a result of lengthy altercations, members of the commission decided to send this bill for revision.
