ArmInfo. During the international conference organized by the Romanian Parliament from April 1 to April 2, the main issues and challenges facing Europe, as well as the possibilities for enhancing cooperation with the Eastern Partnership countries, were discussed. The MP noted that the reforms taking place in Armenia, which coincide with the requirements of the EU, are not being implemented to gain the favor of the European Union. "All reforms in the country are carried out on the basis of the interests of the people of Armenia. We also believe that the EU has a unique opportunity to participate in reforms in Armenia, which, from my point of view, will have a positive impact on the Eastern Partnership countries," he stressed.
The MP said that after the revolution in Armenia, the EU sent about 20 proposals to the member countries of the Eastern Partnership, most of which had already been implemented in Armenia, a speech, in particular, on the fight against corruption, freedom of speech, protection of human rights, etc.
"I would also like to note that during the discussions the delegation from Armenia drew the attention of the parliamentarians of the EU member states to the issues and challenges related to regional security. During the discussions on April 2, MP Gayane Abrahamyan noted that on April 2, 2016, Azerbaijan showed aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh Karabakh. And we once again drew the attention of our partners to the need to maintain a stable situation in the region, "said Yeghoyan.
Yeghoyan also raised the issue related to a possible agreement to be concluded between Azerbaijan and the European Union, referring to the alleged provisions in this agreement on the Karabakh issue. "All provisions in this agreement should be as balanced as possible, and they should be coordinated with similar norms of the Armenia-EU agreement and processes under the co-chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group. The interests of all parties should be taken into account here, as stability in the region depends on all countries I hope that our colleagues from the EU, conducting negotiations with Azerbaijan, will show maximum balance, since further development of our relations will depend on this, "the MP concluded
