ArmInfo. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received US Ambassador to RA Lynne Tracy.
As the Deputy Prime Minister's office reports, Avinyan highly appreciated the existing level of Armenian-American relations. He expressed confidence that by joint efforts it will be possible to achieve deepening of mutually beneficial bilateral relations in various fields.
The Armenian Deputy Prime Minister presented the "Work Armenia" program, as well as steps taken by the RA government to modernize the public administration system, strengthen capacities and improve the business environment. An exchange of views took place on increasing the participation of the American side in these initiatives. Lynne Tracy, in her turn, noted that the reforms implemented in Armenia can be a good basis for further deepening trade and economic ties. The parties also touched upon the prospects for cooperation in the areas of trade and the economy and high technology. According to the National Statistical Committee of Armenia, the foreign trade turnover of Armenia and the United States in January-December 2018 amounted to about $ 226.1 million, with an increase of 13.2%. At the same time, exports fell by 28% to $ 47.7 million, while imports grew by 33.7% up to $ 178.4 million
