ArmInfo. Head of the National Security Service of Armenia, Arthur Vanetsyan, does not yet know whether he will appeal against the decision of the court of general jurisdiction on the claim of second RA President Robert Kocharian's son Sedrak Kocharyan, about the violation of the presumption of innocence.
As Vanetsyan noted in an interview with journalists, the court ruled that he had violated the presumption of innocence. "This issue will be reviewed by lawyers, and within the prescribed period, if an appeal decision is not made, all the requirements envisaged by the law will be fulfilled," said Vanetsyanan. On the question of journalists whether he would ask for forgiveness for violation of the presumption of innocence of Sedrak Kocharyan, the latter noted that the court did not put forward such a request to him. "Now I cannot say whether I agree with the court's decision or not. If the lawyers consider that the court's decision cannot be appealed, we must, of course, make this decision and implement it," the NSS head of Armenia emphasized.
To note, on February 18 it became known that Sedrak Kocharyan, the eldest son of Robert Kocharyan, the second president of the RA, was charged with tax evasion on a large scale and legalization of illegally acquired incomes. Before that, at the press conference, head of the National Security Service Arthur Vanetsyan stated that Sedrak Kocharyan was guilty of the incriminated crimes. In this regard, Sedrak Kocharyan has filed a lawsuit on charges of violating the presumption of innocence on the part of Vanetsyan. The court of general jurisdiction satisfied the claim of Sedrak Kocharyan.
