ArmInfo. The Armenian National Committee of Canada (ANCC) took part in commemorative events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the genocide against the Tutsis. This was reported to ArmInfo in the press service of the ANCC.
ANCC Chairman Shahen Mirakian stated that after the Armenian Genocide and the Holocaust, the world repeated "never again," but due to the inaction of the international community, such atrocities were repeated again and again.
"When we recall this tragic page in our common history, we remember the great sacrifices that the Tutsi people endured to protect and preserve their heritage, dignity and culture, and to pass it on to future generations, who will no doubt continue to support the great heritage of their ancestors "Mirakian said, adding that they were all very lucky that they live in Canada, where the sufferings of the victims of the genocide are not forgotten, and their legacy is still being maintained and respected. "Rwandan Tutsis suffered great suffering, but they withstand with dignity, demonstrating greater resilience and desire for life, recovery and prosperity," - concluded the head of the ANCC. ANCC also expressed solidarity with members of the Rwandan community in Canada in the prevention of new genocides and crimes against humanity.
