Lubomir Metnar: In the Czech Republic are in favor of a peaceful  settlement of the Karabakh conflict

The Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic Lyubomir  Metnar, who is on an official visit to Armenia, stated this on April  9 in Yerevan at a press conference with the head of the Armenian  Defense Ministry David Tonoyan. <My Armenian colleague and I touched  upon such a complex and sensitive issue as the Nagorno-Karabakh  conflict.

 The Czech Republic supports exclusively the peaceful settlement of  the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, "he said.At the same time, speaking  about the meeting with Tonoyan, Metnar assured that he had conducted  an effective dialogue, which took place in a constructive atmosphere.  At the same time, he added that he attaches importance to the  meetings that will be held today and tomorrow in Yerevan with the RA  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and in the Parliament. <Armenia is an  important partner of the Czech Republic in the South Caucasus. We  highly appreciate the participation of the Republic of Armenia in the  peacekeeping missions in Afghanistan and Kosovo, as well as our  military are present there, "the head of the Czech defense ministry  said.

Metnar also informed that at today's meeting in Yerevan, a framework  for defense cooperation between the two countries was developed.  According to him, the signing of the military-technical agreement  will give a new impetus to trade and economic cooperation between the  two countries, which in recent years has increased by 300%, which is  impressive. The minister assured that the Czech defense industry has  something to offer Armenia.Metnar also spoke of his intention to  deepen bilateral cooperation in the field of military education. He  expressed readiness to form an appropriate platform between the armed  forces of Armenia and the Czech Republic for the retraining of  Armenian military doctors in the Czech Republic. In this regard, he  stated that about 300 Armenian soldiers had already been trained in  the highest defense institutions of the Czech Republic.
