The program of the Eastern Partnership of the European Union, in the course of 10 years of its existence, has made a serious contribution to strengthening cooperation between Armenia and the EU. This opinion on April 4 in Yerevan at the forum dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the EU Eastern Partnership program was expressed by the head of the European Department of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Tigran Samvelyan.
At the same time, he added that the Armenian side is actively involved in events dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the EaP program. "I would like to emphasize that we do not share the point of view that the Eastern Partnership program is outdated. And we agree that each of the Eastern Partnership countries should have a sense of self-esteem," said Samvelyan, in this context adding that over the years, the EaP has been modernized and today it carries out a differentiated approach to each of the partner countries, focusing on the needs and requirements of each of the member states.
At the same time, he added that the EaP is constantly being upgraded, looking for ways for self- development.
In turn, Charge d'affaires a.i. of the Romanian embassy in Armenia,Horia Marin Draghici stated that the EaP objectives have not changed in these 10 years and are aimed at improving the quality of life of people. "Today it is possible to say with great confidence that the EaP is beneficial both for the European Union and for the participating states of the program. The Eastern Partnership is actively developing, adapting to new challenges. Romania is convinced that the EaP is beneficial," the diplomat said.
At the same time, he stated that on May 12-13, participants in the EaP partnership will gather to review the activities after 2020, will outline the vector of further development and priorities of cooperation.
