ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan who is on an official visit to Addis Ababa on April 3 met with the Minister of Innovation and Technology Getahun Mekuria.
According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Getahun Mekuria exchanged thoughts on the prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the field of innovation and information technology.
Minister Mnatsakanyan, in particular, stated: "We came to Ethiopia to expand and strengthen relations between our countries, which are well acquainted with each other and have strong historical ties. You noted that information technologies are an incentive for economic development. We also share this vision on the development agenda of our country, "the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia said .
The sides also touched upon the experience of Armenia in creative education and the digital agenda, the recorded successes of the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, network of engineering laboratories of Armath and Armenian National Engineering Laboratory (ANEL), and stressed the need to initiate joint programs for the exchange of experience in these areas.
Within the framework of the meeting, the Armenian Enterprise Incubator Foundation signed a memorandum with the computer science department of the Addis Ababa University, which envisage joint educational, research and academic programs, cooperation in the field of information technologies, implementation of joint projects, including implementation of a national engineering laboratories model (ANEL) at Adis Ababa University.
