ArmInfo.In Yerevan, an agreement was signed between the UNICEF office in Armenia and the Government of Bulgaria, the main purpose of which is the social involvement of children with disabilities at an early stage.The agreement was signed by the Ambassador of Bulgaria to the Republic of Armenia Maria Pavlova Tsotsorkova-Kaymaktchieva and Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Armenia Arevik Anapiosyan, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zhanna Andreasyan.Under the agreement, the Bulgarian government will allocate $ 125,000 to UNICEF- Armenia, which will be used to implement a project to provide educational and rehabilitation services for children with disabilities or who have problems with development in the Amasia community of the RA Shirak region.
The 18-month program involves coordinated and joint work to provide social, educational and medical services.Maria Pavlova, in the course of her speech, stated that rendering assistance to children with disabilities is the focus of attention of the Bulgarian government, especially their involvement in the educational system. She also expressed readiness to share serious Bulgarian experience in this field with the Armenian side.Meanwhile, UNICEF representative in Armenia Tanya Radochay stated that this is already the second program implemented with the Bulgarian government in Armenia in the direction of improving the care of children with disabilities. At the same time, she added that children with disabilities have the same needs as healthy ones, and they need the love of family and those around them.
