ArmInfo. The judge of the court of general jurisdiction of Armenia was arrested on charges of accepting a bribe on a large scale.
As reported by the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of activities carried out by the NSS, data were received on the judge's request for a bribe on a particularly large scale for committing certain actions in favor of a person within their authority. As a result of the operational-search measures under the control of the National Security Service officers, a bribe was handed over to the judge through the complicit lawyer, after which the amount received from the latter was discovered and taken away by the National Security Service.
In connection with the receipt of a bribe by the judge in especially large amounts, complicity and bribery in especially large amounts under paragraphs 2 and 3 of Part 4 of Article 311, paragraphs 2 and 3 of Part 4 of Article 38-311 and paragraph 1 of Part 3 of Article 312 of the RA Criminal Code A criminal case was opened in the investigation department of the RA National Security Service, which was sent to the Special Investigation Service for a preliminary investigation.
The judge was taken into custody in accordance with the procedure established by Article 51 of the Judicial Code of the Republic of Armenia. The chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council and the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia were notified of this in accordance with the law.
To note, according to media reports, a judge of the court of general jurisdiction of Kotayk region Gagik Heboyan is accused of large-scale bribery.
