ArmInfo. The problem of spiritual values, the relationship between tradition and modernization is a problem that today is in the focus of all states. Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin stated this today at the international conference in Yerevan entitled "Spiritual Values and the Modern State".
According to the diplomat, the world is changing rapidly, and in these conditions it is important to preserve the coordinate system in order to distinguish the good from the bad, and the good from harm. "And our genetic core is playing a key role in this," the ambassador said.
He stressed that spiritual values are the compass, which gives the correct system of coordinates. "The history of mankind shows that only by remaining faithful to its spiritual and traditional values, the state will successfully develop and perceive something new that the world dictates, while at the same time maintaining stability. And the death of states is connected, first of all, with the decline of spiritual and moral values, "the diplomat stressed.
According to him, today it is possible to observe how a part of the states are trying to arrogate to themselves the right to dictate values, dictate the ways of development to other states. "Russia in this sense has consistently advocated the realization of freedom of choice by all nations and states. We believe that each state should develop on the basis of its specificity, "said Sergey Kopyrkin.
As for Armenia, then, according to Kopyrkin, in Armenia the concept of "spiritual values" is of particular importance due to the specificity of history, when the church traditionally played the role of a binding force that helped the Armenian nation to survive.
"Spiritual values played a special role in the history of Armenia and Russia. And I am convinced that this will continue to be fundamental factor that will help strengthen and develop our relationship in the current very difficult and fast changing world", concluded the Ambassador.
In turn, the Ambassador of Belarus to Armenia Igor Nazaruk stressed that each state has not only its own ideology, but also a long history. "In developed countries it is not customary to speak openly about ideology, but they not only honor and cherish their values and ideological foundations, but also openly or not very obsessively dictate to others. Unfortunately, with the collapse of the USSR, we didn't have the ideological platform that accompanied us, time will tell whether it's good or bad. But a state without its own value system can be neither solid nor durable, "he stressed.
According to the diplomat, today the most important postulate for Belarus is patriotism. "The former republics of the USSR have verified the system of values, the so-called <sustainable spiritual code>, and the priority task is the preservation and enhancement of the age-old values of our peoples, "the ambassador said.
He stressed that the post-Soviet countries should not allow the influence of destructive forces and an alien ideology capable of destroying their historical memory. "The strengthening and development of multifaceted allied interaction within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union and the CSTO can help in this task," the diplomat said.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia, Timur Urazaev, emphasized the need to combine tradition and modernization, noting that this is a very difficult task. However, as the diplomat stressed, this task is very important for any society - Kazakhstan, Armenia or Russia. "On the one hand, we are the followers of a deep cultural heritage, including the religious part, and on the other hand, we all must keep pace with the passage of time and fit into the picture of the world," Urazaev explained. The ambassador stressed that the program "Modernization of public consciousness" is being implemented in Kazakhstan, which will help make society modern and mobile, ready to meet the challenges, but at the same time not lose its cultural, national and traditional foundations. "The youth is very important in this. It is important that we manage to protect ourselves from the alien values imposed on us, separating the most important thing that we need for sustainable development, "Urazayev emphasized. It should be noted that the conference was organized by the research and analytical public organization "Integration and Development" together with the Network Research Institute.
