ArmInfo. The settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of the Madrid principles is unacceptable, since they initially have an anti-Armenian character, are far from the logic of the conflict, its essence and cannot become a platform for a long-term peace.
This is stated in the statement issued by the Pan-Armenian Union of Officers received by ArmInfo regarding the proposals of the OSCE Minsk Group. It should be noted that the latest statement of the OSCE Minsk Group, in particular, refers to the unreasonability of changing the current format of negotiations, transferring territories controlled by the Armenian side, postponing the referendum on the status of Nagorno-Karabakh and returning refugees to their places of early residence. Persistent and consistent insistance on Madrid principles on the part of the Minsk Group gives the Pan-Armenian Union of Officers a reason to conclude that this structure has taken the path of supporting the Turkish-Azerbaijani expansionist , Armenophobic, genocidal policy. The border between Artsakh and Azerbaijan is the result of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan and Turkey, the opposition of the Armenian forces to a new attempt, "the Pan-Armenian Union of Officers said in a statement.
According to the authors of the document, the direct intervention of external actors and the alleged similar actions should be recognized illegitimate and leading the situation to a large-scale military action. The long-term viability of the current status quo is to some extent recognized by the Minsk Group, and it should make efforts to formalize it in the frameworks of international law, restore the distorted format of negotiations and ensure the participation of one of the main parties to the conflict - Artsakh - in the negotiations. "In the current realities, Artsakh should also represent the interests of the Armenian community of Azerbaijan, which was forced to leave the country due to the genocidal actions of the Azerbaijani authorities. Resolving the conflict requires recognizing Artsakh's status within the current borders and the actual border between Artsakh and Azerbaijan. Taking this settlement scenario, the Pan- Armenian Union of Officers declares that the Armenian people are as allied as ever, aware of the threats and challenges and are ready to resist them. Imposing the Madrid principles will inevitably lead to a new war, more destructive and capable of destabilizing the entire region, the responsibility for which will fall entirely on the OSCE Minsk Group ", the Union statement reads.
