At its 154th meeting held from 12 to 15 March 2019 in Bucharest, the Board of Management of the Council of Europe's Eurimages Fund agreed to provide support to Aurora's Sunrise, an Armenian- German co-production directed by Inna Sahakyan. As ArmInfo was told in the National Cinema Center of Armenia, by unanimous decision of international experts, it will be allocated 140 thousand euros of financial assistance, which is 24% of the total budget. According to the cinema center, the project of the "Bars Media" company was rated at 10 points, and this is the highest score on the " Eurimage "rating scale.
Aurora's Sunrise is a joint Armenian-German film project, implemented jointly with Gebruder Beetz German film production company (producer Christian Beetz), which will provide 27.15% of the project's budget. In turn, the Bars Media Company will be allocated funds by the National Cinema Center of Armenia (45 million drams).
The film tells about the life story of Arshaluys Mardiganian, (she is Aurora Mardiganian,). A 14-year-old girl, having gone through the horrors of genocide, capture, persecution, thanks to her strength of will, rationality and determination, in 1917 found salvation in the United States. And in 1919, Arshaluys agreed to play herself in the "Auction Souls", silent Hollywood film, which tells about the ordeals of life.
In total, out of 47 projects presented at the Bucharest Eurimage Summit, 18 projects received support ( 15 fiction films, 2 documentaries and 1 animation project )The total amount of this session was 4 million 397 thousand euros( ?4,397,000. ).
