ArmInfo. In the Investigation Committee of Armenia, a police officer serving on the front line was convicted of intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm in order  to avoiding from military service.

According to the report of the RA Investigative Committee, received  by ArmInfo, on September 2, 2018, at 9:55pm hours local time, the  sixth garrison investigation department received a message from the  Nth military unit that on the same day, around 9:00pm the fighting  post as a result of an exchange of fire with the enemy a gunshot  wound in the area of the left shoulder was received by the  shooter-sniper from the N- th part of the police forces.

In the Investigative Committee informed that in fact a criminal case  was initiated on the grounds of paragraph 13 of Part 2 of Art. 34-104  of the RA Criminal Code. Within the framework of the criminal case,  the wounded policeman was recognized as a victim and gave testimony,  according to which, on September 2, 2018, according to the schedule,  he carried out supervisory service at the front line according to the  schedule. At 8:30pm, according to the testimony, a soldier of the  Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan penetrated a trench in the  positions of the Armenian Armed Forces. As a result of the shootout,  according to the materials of the case, an officer of the RA police  forces received a gunshot wound to his left shoulder. The  aforementioned police officer was awarded the medal of the first  degree "for excellent police service" by the order of the head of the  RA police.

However, later a forensic medical examination showed that the  policeman had injured himself with a sniper rifle assigned to him,  which led to a temporary suspension of his official duties.   According to the case, then the policeman deliberately gave false  testimony, and for the truth and support of his testimony, he made 12  shots in the direction of the enemy's positions.  "The police officer  was charged on the grounds of part 1 of Article 363 of the RA  Criminal Code, P1 and 2 Part 2 of Article 333 of the RA Criminal  Code, Part 2 of Article 371 of the RA Criminal Code. committee of  Armenia.  The officers of the internal troops of the RA Police began  to serve on the front line since August 2018. The Cabinet took the  decision in June 2018.
