ArmInfo.Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov expressed concern about the Russian ambassador to Baku, Mikhail Bocharnikov, in connection with the participation of representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh in the meeting of the Russian-Armenian "Lazarev Club" in Moscow.
According to the Azerbaijani media, citing the foreign affairs agency, discontent with this fact was brought to the Russian ambassador during today's meeting with Mamedyarov.According to the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, such cases contradict the legal and regulatory framework that is the basis of Azerbaijani- Russian relations and the role of the Russian Federation as an intermediary in resolving the conflict.The minister noted that the existing relations between Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation are of a strategic nature and such phenomena are unacceptable.The second meeting of the Russian-Armenian Lazarev Club was held in Moscow on March 5-6, 2019 in the Andreevsky Hall of the Renaissance Moscow Monarch Center Hotel. Experts and officials from Armenia, Russia and Artsakh took part in it.The participation of representatives of Artsakh in the event caused a negative reaction in Baku, which required clarification from Moscow.
It is noteworthy that the chairman of the club's organizing committee, the first deputy head of the Duma committee on CIS affairs, Konstantin Zatulin, said that despite unfriendly steps, they will continue to invite friends from Artsakh to the event, moreover the club will meet quarterly.
