ArmInfo. At the March 6 sitting, the National Assembly of Armenia took note of the report of the Central Election Commission on the early parliamentary elections held in December last year. Speaking with the final speech, the head of the CEC, Tigran Mukuchian, stated that the past elections showed an increase in public confidence in them. This is evidenced by the reports of numerous observation missions.
Tigran Mukuchyan stressed that at all stages of the electoral process, the CEC actively cooperated with political parties, public organizations and observers. This cooperation will continue in the future, the head of the commission stated. He recalled the growing confidence in the elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan. "This trend should be maintained," said Tigran Mukuchyan. It is curious that the day before, when submitting the report, the head of the CEC noted that during the 8 years of his term in this position, the election results were not falsified, despite the fact that over the years the opposition repeatedly questioned the election results.
"During all elections, the Central Election Commission with its activity tried to monitor compliance with the requirements of the Electoral Code",- said Tigran Mukuchyan.
