ArmInfo.The Armenian parliament agreed to extend the terms of the law "On persons who did not undergo compulsory military service in the prescribed manner",  adopting the document on March 6 in the second and final reading. As  one of the authors of the presented document, Secretary of the  Svetlaya Armenia Party faction Gevorg Gorgisyan, noted in his speech,  the second reading of the proposals from the deputies and the  government was not received. 

The draft law proposes to extend the term of the law, according to  which persons who turned 27 years old before the end of 2017 were  given the opportunity to pay money and return to Armenia without fear  of criminal prosecution. Now it is proposed to provide such an  opportunity to those persons who turned 27 years old before the end  of 2018. Thus, as the keynote speaker stressed, this could be a new  wave of repatriation and the solution of the country's demographic  problems. According to him, according to the situation at the  beginning of the current year, there are about 10,900 draft dodgers  "on the run", and the document presented is intended to solve this  problem. It should be noted that the government of the country gave a  positive opinion on the submitted draft law, which should be adopted  in the second and final reading in the 24th mode. 

This is the 9th case when the authorities are taking this step in  order to solve the problems of a limited number of people who want to  return to their homeland. Previously, the proposal to extend the law  was made by the Ministry of Diaspora. Now, in view of the ambiguity  of the status of the Ministry of Diaspora, the Light Armenia faction  has come up with a similar initiative. Earlier, RA Prime Minister  Nikol Pashinyan noted that today 90% of all criminal cases dealt with  in the Armed Forces concern evasion from military service. The  reasons for this, according to the Prime Minister, are both objective  and subjective.  Many left the country before the age of  conscription, but this does not mean that they should not serve in  the army. It is important to understand and assess the situation, all  the more, as Nikol Pashinyan noted, it is a question of a small  circle of people, and small means, which can to some extent have a  positive effect on the situation in the armed forces.Recall that a  document a citizen who has reached the age of 27 (reserve officer  -35-year-old) who did not undergo compulsory military service, in  order to terminate the criminal prosecution instituted against him  and register in the order established by law violation of the law to  pay an amount of 200 times the minimum wage, which is currently equal  to 55 thousand drams.
