
ArmInfo. On March 1, the Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Armenia on Foreign Relations Hovhannes Igityan met with the deputy of the German Bundestag Anton Friesen.
The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Armenia Bernhard Mathias Kiesler also attended the meeting.The interlocutors noted the high level of Armenian-German friendly and warm relations, stressed the stability of long-term inter- parliamentary relations. Mr. Igityan appreciated the role of Germany in democratic, legal and economic reforms in the Republic of Armenia. The parliamentarians expressed confidence that the interaction will continue with a new force.The parties addressed the fair and transparent extraordinary parliamentary elections that took place on December 9, last year, as well as the Agreement on a Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership of Armenia - EU.H.
Igityan presented the position of Armenia on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, stressing the importance of the participation of Artsakh in the negotiations. According to him, the final solution of the problem should be acceptable to the people of Artsakh. The parties highlighted the settlement of the issue exclusively by peaceful means.The Deputy of the Bundestag Anton Friesen expressed confidence that in the newly elected National Assembly the Deputy Friendship Groups will actively work and promote the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.H. Igityan also touched upon the economic revolution in Armenia, considering it important in this matter to study and apply the German experience, particularly in the areas of small and medium-sized businesses.
