ArmInfo. The EU's position on Karabakh is in full adherence to the OSCE MG format. Head of EU Delegation in Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Switalski stated this on February 26 press conferences.
The head of the EU delegation recalled that last week the mediators visited the region. "This is hard work and the EU is fully contributing to the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to resolve the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict," he said.
According to the diplomat, in recent months there have been positive developments in this direction. "We have witnessed an unprecedentedly low number of incidents and ceasefire violations," he said. At the same time, Piotr Switalski noted the positive response of the parties following the results of the meetings at the level of leaders and foreign ministers. <This is important for progress. But the process itself is extremely complicated and fragile. As external partners, we can trust the middlemen, which we are doing>, the European diplomat said. At the same time, the head of the EU delegation noted the importance of contacts between representatives of the civil society of the two countries for restoring peace in the region.
