To note, last week Lynne Tracy took the oath to serve in Armenia as the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
To recall, on January 3 of this year, the US Senate approved the candidacy of Lynne M. Tracy as the US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia. Her candidacy was previously proposed by US President Donald Trump. "I support this candidacy, but I look forward to working closely with Ms. Tracy around the issue of how fair recognition of the Armenian Genocide will be promoted," then Senator Menendez said. Earlier, at a hearing in the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Lynne Tracy stated that the main goal of US policy in Armenia is to strengthen the independent statehood of the republic. Lynne Tracy is a specialist on Russia and the countries of the former USSR. She is a professional diplomat, prior to her appointment to Armenia, she held the post of senior adviser on Russian affairs at the State Department. Prior to that, she worked as US Deputy Ambassador to Moscow, Ashgabat and Astana, First Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central Asia. She also served in the US Consulate in Peshawar in Pakistan. She was awarded award "For Heroism" from the Secretary of State. She speaks Russian.
