ArmInfo. On February 24, parliamentary elections were held in Moldova, which were observed by representatives of Armenia as part of the IPA CIS.
The group of international observers from the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States included 35 observers from 7 CIS IPA member states (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia). Their work is coordinated by Bektas Beknazarov, Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.
Thus, a member of the group of international observers from the IPA CIS, Secretary of the Counting Commission of the National Assembly of Armenia Arpine Davoyan, in an interview with journalists, stated that they did not reveal serious violations. "Basically, no violations were detected by us. Some things seemed a little strange to us. Thus, in our opinion, the polling booths were located very close to each other ... There were no ramps, which complicates access to the sections of people with limited mobility, "she said, adding that a large number of international observers are watching the elections, whose presence helps holding transparent elections.
For the first time in the history of the country, parliamentary elections in Moldova were held according to a mixed electoral system - 51 MPs by district, and 50 by party lists in the national district. Simultaneously with the parliamentary elections, a consultative referendum was held. The electoral threshold for entry into parliament is 6% for the party and socio-political organizations and 8% for electoral blocs. The minimum threshold of voting turnout is canceled. According to the Electoral Code, the candidate with the most votes will win in single-member constituencies. If several candidates score the same number of votes, the district electoral council will hold the draw.
According to the results of the first calculations, the ruling Democratic Party and the pro- presidential Socialist Party are leading in the parliamentary elections in Moldova. According to the first results, after processing 11% of the election protocols, they gain about 30% of the votes. They is followed by the right pro-European ACUM bloc, which gains about 20% of the vote. The party of Ilan Shor, convicted by the first instance for involvement in the theft of a billion dollars from the banking system, also passes to the parliament. It gains about 10% of the vote. The remaining parties do not overcome the six percent barrier to passing to parliament. Closer to other parties to this line is the Communist Party of ex-Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, which gains more than 4% of the vote.
According to preliminary data of the CEC, less than 1.45 million voters took part in the elections, which is 49.18% of voters. The final election results will be presented on March 3.
