ArmInfo. The Armenian Ambassador to Argentina, Ester Mkrtumyan, during a meeting with the Vice-President and President of the Senate of the country Gabriela Michetti, presented the processes in Armenia that take place after the parliamentary elections held in the Republic in December 2018.
The press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry told ArmInfo that at the meeting the Armenian diplomat also touched upon the issues of the Armenian-Argentine political agenda, prospects for the development of economic relations, activation of contacts both in a bilateral format and at international platforms.
In turn, Michetti highly appreciated the level of interstate relations, and also expressed a desire to visit Armenia this year on an official visit.
Considering the fact that this year Armenia is chairing the Eurasian Economic Union, and Argentina MERCOSUR (common market of South American countries, economic and political agreement between Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay - Ed. note), an agreement was reached, using the possibilities of these platforms, to give impetus to the processes aimed at establishing cooperation between the two structures. The Armenian diplomat drew attention to the fact that Armenia is the only country in the region that has a high level of representation in Argentina. The Armenian Ambassador also spoke about the processes taking place in the region.
