ArmInfo.Today, on February 7, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia, Timur Urazayev, met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Armenia on Foreign Relations Ruben Rubinyan.During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two states were discussed, including the activities of parliamentary friendship groups, as well as interaction within the framework of inter-parliamentary organizations (IPA CIS, CSTO PA, OSCE PA, PACE).
The ambassador stressed the importance of forming the Armenian part of the "friendship group" as an effective tool of inter-parliamentary dialogue in the interests of the society of Kazakhstan and Armenia, deepening mutual understanding and constructive cooperation on international challenges.During the meeting, the attention of the Armenian side was drawn to the importance of the economic component of bilateral cooperation and work within the EAEU.
"The statistics of the growth in commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Armenia also speaks in favor of this," the Ambassador emphasized. The economic indicators of Kazakhstan also confirm the priorities in the demands of society.According to the information of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the foreign trade turnover of Armenia with Kazakhstan increased by 50% in 2018 and amounted to $ 13.4 million.
