ArmInfo. Artsakh's former Prime Minister Araik Harutyunyan refuted the statement of the former NKR Defense Minister Samvel Babayan that in 2017, the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, held talks with the leadership of the republic regarding concessions in the framework of the Karabakh settlement.
On his Facebook page, Harutyunyan, in particular, wrote: <First, the meetings mentioned by Samvel Babayan in an interview with Radio Liberty did not take place in 2017, but in April and July of 2016. In the years of his rule, President Sargsyan was always open with the leadership of Artsakh, and all issues were discussed in an atmosphere of mutual respect and within the framework of the dialogue.
"As Harutyunyan stressed, during the meetings mentioned above, the leaders of the two Armenian republics agreed that the negotiations could not address the issue providing for even the smallest deviation from the actual status of Artsakh. In addition, the former prime minister wrote, during these meetings, the leadership of the two Armenian republics stated that in the final version of the Karabakh settlement absolute guarantees of the security of the people of Artsakh should be ensured.<P.S. The government that intends to make territorial concessions does not build the Vardenis-Martakert corridor (the second corridor connecting Armenia and Artsakh, ed.), does not implement the repatriation program, does not implement a strategy for uniform territorial development at the expense of investments and state funds, and finally , does not strengthen the army and advanced>, - wrote Harutyunyan.
He called on Babayan to continue not to speculate with such questions: "It would be better if everyone, as far as they can, will assist in the development of Artsakh".
