ArmInfo. The newly appointed governors of the Shirak and Tavush regions of Armenia, in an interview with journalists, outlined the priorities of their work as head of the region.According to the new head of the Shirak region Tigran Petrosyan, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has already outlined regional priorities - attracting investment and creating new jobs, which will lead to a change in the socio-economic situation.
In addition, as the head of the marz recalled, the head of government instructed to consistently improve the investment climate in the regions. "That is, those who decide to invest in the region should constantly feel the support of the authorities," said Petrosyan.
According to him, even 30 years after the devastating Spitak earthquake, the authorities do not have all the information about how many citizens need to improve their living conditions, or are on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe. According to Petrosyan, in order to resolve issues related to homeless people, a working group has been created, which also includes the Chirac regional administration. Within the framework of the working group, the executive branch hopes to understand the scope of the work ahead, as well as the necessary resource for resolving issues.Newly appointed governor Tavush Hayk Chobanyan, in turn, believes that the economy should be based on human capital.
"Our task is for every Tavush resident to maximize his potential in the good of his family and homeland," he said. Everything will be done also to stimulate the involvement of citizens in the life of the region through cultural and educational programs, Chobanyan assured.According to him, the region has an untapped investment potential in various areas. According to Chobanyan, one should more effectively use the opportunities provided by the status of the border area in the form of tax exemptions, and also become a self-sufficient region in terms of meeting the needs of the armed forces located on the border. "Not a single piece of land should remain uncultivated - it is necessary to reconsider their consumer status in production," he said, noting that businesses should be given the opportunity to use land on preferential terms. He also called on the regions of the republic to rapidly develop alternative energy, thereby reducing Armenia's energy dependence on imported energy resources.
