ArmInfo.A number of Armenian-Italian programs in scientific field are expected. This became known during the meeting of the Chairman of the Committee on Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia Samvel Harutyunyan with the delegation of the National Research Council of Italy, headed by its President Massimo Inguscio.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Education, the meeting is held to sign a cooperation agreement, within the framework of the memorandum of understanding in science and technology signed in July 2018 between the Committee on Science of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia and the National Research Council of Italy.
Regarding the priority areas of further cooperation, Harutyunyan noted that scientific directions such as theoretical physics, astronomy, astrophysics, archeology, food safety are developed in Armenia, for a detailed acquaintance with the achievements of which it was proposed to organize visits to scientific organizations.
In turn, Professor Massimo Inguscio presented the activities of the Council headed by him, identifying such areas of cooperation between the Armenian and Italian sides as archeology, IT, and agriculture as priorities.
A tender will be announced once every two years to finance scientific programs, as a result of which the parties will support the implementation of up to 5 large research programs that will involve scientists from around the world for 2 years. In particular, the first competition will be announced in the spring of 2019.
