ArmInfo. Armenia remains in the top ten countries in the number of cases considered by the European Court of Human Rights.
As of January 1, 2019, the ECHR is considering 1901 cases concerning Armenia. However, the number of applications in 2018 was only 167, which is more than two times less than 356 in 2017. Last year, the ECHR communicated 49 complaints to the Government of Armenia. The number of decisions in cases involving Armenia from 1959 to 2018 was 103. Most of the violations in these cases concern the right to a fair judicial investigation and the right to liberty and security.
