Diplomat: Kazakhstan`s leadership focuses on the issue of ensuring  peaceful and equal coexistence of nations in the country

ArmInfo.  Kazakhstan's  incumbent leadership focuses on ensuring peace and security, equal coexistence of nations in the country, Armenian Ambassador to  Kazakhstan from 2013 to 2018 Ara Sahakyan expressed such an opinion  an interview with ArmInfo correspondent, referring to the incident in  the city of Karaganda.

At the same time, he stated that the state system in Kazakhstan  operates clearly. At the same time, the diplomat pointed out that in  Kazakhstan is proud that in their country representatives of 132  nationalities live under the same roof. In this regard, Sahakyan  recalled that an Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan operates in  that country headed by the President of the country, the purpose of  which is to provide centralized assistance to national cultural  associations. "The incident in Karaganda has a purely domestic  character, but some circles tried to present it in other light, which  was quickly stopped," said the former Armenian ambassador to  Kazakhstan.

At the same time, he did not agree that the Armenians in Kazakhstan  enjoy some privileges. Sahakyan stressed that the Armenians in  Kazakhstan get their bread by overwork. "Within 5 years of fulfilling  the mission in Kazakhstan, I became convinced that Armenians are  law-abiding citizens of this country and who are connected with their  Homeland with their hearts and souls," Sahakyan said.

At the same time, the diplomat stated that after the incident in  Karaganda, Azerbaijani bloggers became more active. "One of the worst  evils of humanity is nationalism, which is not easy to overcome.   Some layers of society have national vanity, a sense of exclusivity,  which occasionally  is demonstrated in the presence of fertile soil,  "he said. At the same time, the diplomat expressed his conviction  that the activities of the Armenian Foreign Ministry should not be  judged solely by the statements made by the Armenian Embassy in  Kazakhstan, and later by the Armenian Foreign Ministry and other  structures. According to him, from the first minutes of the incident,  tremendous work was carried out by the law enforcement agencies of  Kazakhstan, key authorities, local elites, with Armenian key figures,  and a summary of this activity was presented to the public several  days later. "Such is the work of a diplomat, balanced, thoughtful,  free from theatricality and the desire to make an impression," said  Sahakyan, urging to draw conclusions on the results of activities. 

To recall, on the night of January 1 in the restaurant "Ancient Rome"  in the city of Karaganda there was a fight. As a result of the  incident, a 23-year-old resident was killed, three more were injured.  The deadly scuffle in Kazakhstan has become a fertile ground for  inciting ethnic hatred and the spread of misinformation. According to  the latest data, 8 people were detained.
