ArmInfo.The leadership of the "My Step" bloc is trying to shift its responsibility onto us, saying that the opposition could nominate one candidate for the post of vice  speaker.

On January 14, Edmond Marukyan, head of the Enlightened Armenia  party, told reporters.He noted that representatives of his party are  supporters of public debates. "The political majority will decide  whom to cast their votes to. I noted in my speech that I did not hope  for the votes of the Prosperous Armenia faction, as they have their  own candidate, but I hope that the ruling bloc will give its votes to  us," stressed Marukyan.He also noted that the post of vice-speaker is  not related to who is the representative of the second largest  political force in parliament. "Their statements that they will elect  the vice-speaker of who is the representative of the second largest  political force represented in parliament are not logical. If the  second largest were representatives of the Republican Party, would  they vote for them?" - concluded Marukyan.

Note that the first meeting of the newly elected National Assembly  was held today. Two politically oriented forces of the Prosperous  Armenia Party and the Enlightened Armenia Party nominated their  candidates for the post of Vice Speaker of the Parliament. The head  of the faction of the ruling "My Step" bloc Lilit Makunts stated that  the representatives of the faction decided that they would give their  vote to the representative of the "Prosperous Armenia" faction Vahe  Enfiajyan. "We decided to choose a candidate from the force that the  people gave the majority of votes. Our people decided that the  Prosperous Armenia Party will become the second political force, so  we will give it our vote," Makunts said.
