ArmInfo.Armenian President Armen Sarkissian on January 14, on the first day of the meeting of the new parliament, appointed Acting Head of Government Nikol Pashinyan Prime Minister of the country.
"Guided by part 1 of Article 149 of the Constitution of Armenia (after the beginning of the term of office of the newly elected National Assembly, the president immediately appoints the candidate represented by the parliamentary majority-ed. note) to appoint Nikol Pashinyan as prime minister of the Republic of Armenia," the presidential decree posted on the official website of the RA President reads.
