Investigative Committee revealed serious abuses by a number of  contractors engaged in construction at Armenian Defense Ministry  order

ArmInfo.The Investigative Committee revealed serious abuses on the part of a number of contractors engaged in construction work commissioned by the Armenian  Ministry of Defense.

According to the Committee, a number of companies that carry out  construction work on the order of the Ministry of Defense, evaded  their contractual obligations, did poor-quality work, but having  falsified documents on the work done, they got super-profit. For  example, instead of building walls 60 cm wide, stipulated by the  contractual obligations, companies built walls 15 to 45 cm wide. When  carrying out construction work, the materials required by contractual  obligations were not used. However, in the executive act on the  results of the work done, completely different indicators were  indicated. Thus, these companies caused damage to the state in  especially large amounts.

Within the framework of the violations found, 10 persons were  charged, 7 of them were heads of various companies, 3 were  high-ranking military personnel. Some of the defendants, admitting  their guilt, repaid the damage, others were granted amnesty.
