ArmInfo. There was no talk of any increase in gas tariffs. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan said this in a conversation with reporters, commenting on rumours in the Armenian press that during a telephone conversation Avinyan had discussed the increase in gas prices with his Russian counterpart.
"By telephone, the format of negotiations was discussed in connection with gas tariffs in Armenia. Only after the negotiations, it will be clear whether gas prices will rise or, on the contrary, decrease," Avinyan concluded.
To note, at present, negotiations are being held between Armenia and Russia on the price of gas, since the agreement on which Armenia receives Russian gas at a price of $ 150 per 1000 cubic meters will terminate on December 31, 2018. At the same time, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Garegin Baghramyan informed the journalists that until the parties reach an agreement on the price of gas, Armenia will receive blue fuel at the current price. Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that there is a possibility of lowering the price of Russian gas for Armenia, and he intends to discuss this issue with the Russian leader.
