ArmInfo. All law enforcement officers have made a significant contribution to ensuring the security of our country, Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated on December 20 at the official ceremony attached to the day of the security officials.
He noted that the challenges in the modern world are very complex and diverse, and often require the improvement of their skills. "Intelligence, fighting crime, ensuring public order, protecting our borders is a huge work, and you fulfill your duties with honor. The revolution that took place in Armenia this year has completely changed the life of the citizens of the country. We are reviewing the path we have passed and building future prospects. In this context, the National Security Service plays a huge role in the fight against crime and corruption, " Pashinyan said, noting that the fight against corruption is one of the biggest challenges in our country.
The Acting Prime Minister noted that today we are building a new state and are forming a new society. "In Armenia, corruption, bribery and various crimes should be eradicated. Those guilty must in any case be punished severely, we should also exclude such phenomena as abuse of office and everything that distorts the principles of democracy. Previously it was not common to talk about human rights and democracy with representatives of security service. Now we will talk about these topics, since the preservation of the constitutional order means in every possible way to protect the power of the people from any attacks. By protecting our people, you are defending the source of power ", Pashinyan stressed.
He also stated that in Armenia there is no more, and there will never be other sources of power besides the people of the country. "Corruption is not only money theft, system corruption is associated with the abduction and retention of the power of the people. Therefore, we will not allow this together with you and our society. I am very pleased that such elections have taken place in Armenia, that correspond to international standards according to observers ".
Pashinyan also noted that there are certain problems in the system on which he wants to draw the attention of the agency's staff. "Unfortunately, security agencies in Armenia used to be sometimes involved in the process of political persecution. And now, unfortunately, there are certain people who talk about political persecution. I want to note that political persecution by security personnel in our country must be eradicated. Security authorities should not become a vendetta instrument in the hands of the current authorities. Each security officer must be sure that his actions comply with the law, and are based on the interests of the state citizens and the people of Armenia. The most important thing is equality, protection of the law, independence of the judicial system is a fair consequence. The main thing is for everyone to know that someone from the government, be it the president or the prime minister, cannot influence the legal and judicial system ", the Acting Prime Minister concluded.
