ArmInfo. Artur Baghdasaryan leaves the active policy and the post of party "Orinats Yerkir". This became known during the extraordinary congress of the party, which was attended by the leaders of the party's territorial structures from Yerevan and from all regions of Armenia.
According to the report, Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, who had previously been Deputy of Baghdasaryan, was nominated and unanimously elected to the post of party chairman. Karine Sargsyan, Vahe Torosyan and Simon Hakobyan became vice-chairmens of the party.
To recall, in 1997, Artur Baghdasaryan founded and headed the "Orinats Yerkir" party. . In May 2003, being led by "Orinats Yerkir" party proportional list was elected as MP to the National Assembly of the third convocation. In June of the same year he was elected Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. In 2008, Baghdasaryan entered into a coalition agreement with RA ex-president Serzh Sargsyan, after which he was appointed Secretary of the National Security Council of the Republic of Armenia by presidential decree.
According to observers, Arthur Baghdasaryan is likely to go into business, as he owns a winery and a number of other businesses. After leaving the party, observers do not expect it to become more active, since it was considered to be the party of one person.
