ArmInfo. "Prevention of genocides is a daily work in the field of human rights," said CE Commissioner for Human Rights Dunja Mijatovic  in a video message to  the participants of the third global forum "Against the Crime of Genocide" being held in Yerevan.

The CE Commissioner for Human Rights recalled that after the Second  World War, the governments of the countries decided to bring the  perpetrators to justice. This was reflected also in the adoption of  the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of  Genocide.

However, as she pointed out, over the next 10 years the  implementation of the documents was not ensured.  "The genocides  continue, the people are deliberately killed, and all this happens in  front of world community and the guilty remain unpunished," Mijatovic  said. "Preventing genocides is a daily work in the field of human  rights. You can't wait for the first victims to take action," the CE  Commissioner for Human Rights said, noting that appropriate education  is extremely important in preventing genocides.

The Forum "Against the Crime of Genocide", which will be held in  Yerevan between December 9 and 11, is dedicated to the prevention of  the crime of genocide through education, culture and museums,  organized by the Armenian Foreign Ministry with the assistance of the  United Nations Office for the Prevention of Genocides, and in  collaboration with the International Association of Genocide  Researchers. At the opening Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab  Mnatsakanyan, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for  the Prevention of Genocides Adama Dieng, Rapporteur of the OSCE PA's  Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions  Kyriakos Kyriakou-Hadjiyianni , as well as Henry C. Theriault  ,President of the International Association of Genocide Scholars  and  Coordinator of Global Action Prevention of Mass Crime Coordinator  (GAAMAC). The next day, on December 11, the opening ceremony of the  Raphael Lemkin Street will be held (now the 1st blind pass of Marshal  Baghramyan Avenue).
