ArmInfo. Acting. Prime Minister of Armenia, who heads the election campaign list of the "My Step" electoral bloc, Nikol Pashinyan, on December 1, at a meeting with voters in Meghri city of Syunik region, called for a qualitatively new attitude to be formed in the education system. Pashinyan presented the main ways of developing human capital in Armenia.
According to the Acting Head of government, unfortunately currently there is formal attitude towards the education system. Parents often judge the quality of their child's education based on their diary marks. "Do we ask ourselves whether these grades are adequate to the knowledge gained, or whether they ensure the child's future competitiveness in the labor market?" Pashinyan asked.
According to the leader of the ''My Step'' bloc, the leaders of the velvet revolution have a lot of work to do in this direction. "We have no right to tolerance with regard to a poor-quality teacher, because a low-level specialist de-motivates a good one. In this matter, we cannot afford to compromise," he said.
Nikol Pashinyan noted that Armenia is traditionally proud of its human capital. "This is our greatest wealth" the Acting Prime Minister said. According to him, all efforts should be aimed at raising the level of education to new heights, as it is the guarantor of future victories for the younger generation and the whole country, as a whole. Thus, as Pashinyan pointed out, the activities of the new government should be aimed at improving the educational system and the formation of a healthy nation. "Armenia should be one of the most prosperous countries in the world," concluded Pashinyan.
