ArmInfo.Armenian-Israeli relations have serious potential that is not used. About this in an interview with the Israeli maariv said Armenian Acting Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.
According to him, serious potential exists in such areas as agriculture, education, especially in the field of innovative education. "We are creating mobile applications that have downloaded millions of users. I hope to visit Israel to stimulate negotiations and agreements, create a platform where experts can interact," he stressed.
Touching upon the prospects of founding diplomatic missions in the capitals of the two countries, Mnatsakanyan noted that he is an optimist. "I think it will be. We are striving to raise our relations with Israel to an even greater level", he said.
In particular, he said: "We understand all the details. We will do what will contribute to the process." Mnatsakanyan agreed to clarify whether Armenia should agree on the establishment of an embassy in Jerusalem.
To note, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in December 2017 broke with the prevailing diplomatic tradition for decades and recognized that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. After that, Palestinian leader Abu Mazen announced the termination of all relations with the Trump administration.
Following the US, they decided to transfer their embassies to Jerusalem to Guatemala and Paraguay. However, the latter state then took a step back and returned its delegation to Tel Aviv. It is noteworthy that on November 3, the newly elected President of Brazil, Zhair Bolsonar, said in an interview with the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom that he intends to transfer his country's embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
