As the press service of the Armenian Embassy in Georgia told ArmInfo, large-scale work on clearing the roads and expanding them continues, which in turn will allow restoring the movement of heavy trucks. In the diplomatic mission they also informed that the Georgian side had informed about the high probability of opening traffic on the road for heavy trucks today.
Note that several hundred cars became hostages of adverse weather at the Upper Lars checkpoint. In this regard, yesterday the Armenian side appealed for help to the authorities of North Ossetia. Thus, the Consul General of Armenia in Rostov-on-Don in this regard appealed for help to the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Healthcare of North Ossetia, in connection with which the Minister of Healthcare of North Ossetia left for the place of congestion of cars. Thanks to the efforts of the latter, people who were "stuck" at the checkpoint were given drinking water, food and fuel.
