ArmInfo. Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan received the head of the EU delegation in Armenia, Ambassador Pyotr Svitalsky.
According to the press service of the mayor's office, Marutyan noted that the Yerevan mayor's office has always cooperated with the EU delegation in Armenia. In particular, Marutyan highlighted projects funded by the European Union, such as alternative energy, environmental protection, garbage collection and recycling, etc. The mayor noted with satisfaction that such programs provide an opportunity to acquire new partners, as well as exchange experience.
In turn, Ambassador Svitsalsky stressed that the elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan can be the basis for a good tradition of democratic elections in Armenia. Petr Svitalsky also stressed the importance of the programs implemented in Yerevan with the participation of the EU, stressing, however, that the potential for cooperation was not fully realized. The head of the EU delegation proposed raising the level of cooperation with the city authorities to a new level.
Mayor Marutyan expressed readiness to deepen relations, in particular, assuring that the days of Europe to be held next spring in Yerevan will be unprecedented in terms of their organization.
