ArmInfo. The first group of OSCE / ODIHR observers is already in Yerevan. The head of the OSCE / ODIHR observation mission, Ambassador Urszula Gacek stated this on November 13 at a press conference in Yerevan.
She said that a group of 13 people arrived in Yerevan on Sunday, in the near future another 24 people will arrive, who will carry out a long-term observation mission throughout Armenia, another 250 people will arrive a few days before the early parliamentary elections. The ambassador also stressed that representatives of the OSCE PA, the Council of Europe and the European Parliament will also observe the elections. "Our goal is to monitor electoral processes in Armenia, their compliance with national and international requirements. We arrived here not for criticism, but for the implementation of an observation mission. A preliminary assessment of electoral processes will be given the next day, and we will submit a comprehensive report in 2 month'', said Gacek, recalling that they had arrived in Armenia at the invitation of the Armenian authorities.
She also noted that they are informed about the events that took place in Armenia in April-May of the current year. However, I would like to emphasize once again that we did not come here with some kind of preliminary assessment. It will be given after the election. Standard monitoring will be conducted, according to standard methods, then let's say something has changed in Armenia after the revolution or not, ", she concluded.
