ArmInfo. In Armenia, there are commanders of non-existing troops, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during discussions of the draft state budget of the country for 2019 in the parliament on November 13.
However, according to him, these commanders regularly receive a salary. In such a state of affairs, there can be no talk about wage increases in the country in general. The public administration system should be optimized. "Such a situation when one of the workers in the office works from morning till night, while the other drinks coffee and looks at the clock and they both get the same salary, is unacceptable," the Acting Prime Minister stressed. He added that in the educational field of the country today there is an overabundance of 10 thousand teachers. As a result, the allocated funds are distributed among all, and each of the school teachers receives a meager salary of 70 thousand drams. Importantly, the head of the government continued, the revolutionary process of optimizing the system of public administration that has begun should be evolutionary so that the huge army of people does not remain without work. The optimization process should be accompanied with opening of new jobs and opportunities.
On November 1 of this year Nikol Pashinyan in the country's parliament reported that today in the educational system of the country there are 10872 more places than it was approved by the staff list, which provides for 48,795 staff positions. In fact, Nikol Pashinyan continued, the salary of one teacher is divided into two. The state administration system also requires optimization, which employs 18,700 workers. The Acting Prime Minister also turned to the activities of scientists, whose number is approaching 4,500 people. "I don't say that we don't need these scientists, but what do they do, what achievements have they achieved in science?" Nikol Pashinyan wondered, adding that science is not connected to production and reality. The government intends to solve this problem so that science is directly connected with production and solves its financial problems due to appropriate agreements. "The state should finance the basic sciences," Nikol Pashinyan stressed.
