ArmInfo.Sanctions against Iran are in the center of attention of Yerevan. The press secretary of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalyan stated this on November 13 at a press conference in Yerevan.
At the same time, she stressed that Yerevan is conducting an open and an ongoing dialogue with all parties involved in the process. "We clearly voice matters of concern and concerns that disquietuded us," said.
Naghdalyan, adding that a comprehensive expert analysis of the effects of sanctions against Iran on Armenia is underway. On November 5, new US sanctions against Iran entered into force. Sanctions will cover oil exports. Washington earlier announced the goal to bring Iranian oil exports to zero and urged its buyers to abandon purchases. The Ministry of Finance said that the United States makes more than 700 individuals, organizations, aircraft and ships of Iran on the sanctions list.
To note US President Donald Trump announced in May that Washington exits agreement with Iran on nuclear program. He also reported on the restoration of all sanctions against Iran, including secondary, then there is in relation to other countries doing business with Iran. From August 7 the United States reintroduced part of the sanctions. Tougher sanctions, which concern oil exports, entered into force on November 5th.
To recall Iran and the "six" of international mediators (Russia, USA, Britain, China, France, Germany) on July 14, 2015 reached a historic agreement on resolving the long-standing problem of the Iranian atom: the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA) was adopted, the implementation of which with Iran, previously introduced economic and financial sanctions by the UN Security Council, the United States and the European Union.
