Thus, the press secretary of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalyan, speaking of the new sanctions against Iran, stressed that in Yerevan they are closely following the processes and are in constant contact with all the parties involved in the process. ''We are closely monitoring developments taking place in this direction and are in constant contact with all parties involved in this process. We have clearly presented our concerns and questions related to the process. Traditional friendly relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are of vital importance to the Republic of Armenia. A comprehensive examination of the effects the new sanctions against Iran will have on Armenia is currently being conducted''.
To recall, US President Donald Trump announced in May that Washington was withdrawing from an agreement with Iran on a nuclear program. He also reported on the restoration of all sanctions against Iran, including secondary ones, that is, against other countries doing business with Iran. The United States re-introduced part of the sanctions against Iran on August 7. More substantial sanctions, which will be cover oil exports, entered into force on 5 November. Iran and the "six" international mediators (Russia, USA, Britain, China, France, Germany) on July 14, 2015 reached a historic agreement on resolving the perennial problem of the Iranian atom: the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (IFAP) was adopted, the implementation of which removed Iran's previously economic and financial sanctions by the UN Security Council, the United States and the European Union.
